Their website has a lot more information (http://www.modalvr.com/system/) Says it can track 10 users anywhere within 900,000 sq. ft... wow. Imagine the possibilities of a play area that big. Skip the theme park/vr arcade, this could very well be in everyone's backyard.
I'd love to see this pop up as a way to do group VR experiences such as at movie theaters or theme parks. Could also give you a new way to experience a haunted house.
Also he was the co-founder of Chucky Cheese, which i heard will inspire the business model. The hardware is pricey.

Having the creator of Atari on board gives it some pedigree but it seems like the market might becoming saturated with to many VR companies. As far as i can tell there is not even enough games to go around quite yet.
