Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built MemeForge because I was tired of meme tools that force you to sign up, add ugly watermarks, or upload your images to unknown servers.
MemeForge is different:
- 100% free, no watermarks, no sign-ups
- Everything runs locally in your browser—your images never leave your device
- Upload your own image or paste any URL
- Add top & bottom text with custom size, color, and outline
- 12 built-in filters (Grayscale, Sepia, Vintage, Noir, etc.)
- Live preview as you edit
- Download PNG or copy to clipboard
It works on desktop and mobile. No limits, no tracking, no hidden fees.
I'd love to hear your feedback! What features would you like to see next? Let me know in the comments. 🙌

honestly the live preview and local-only processing is a big deal, love that. one thing though — could you add a drag-to-resize text box instead of just the size slider, so you can actually see how long captions fit before downloading

@oktay371908 Thank you so much! 🙏 The local-only processing is the hill I'll die on — privacy first, always.
You're absolutely right about the drag-to-resize. To be honest, the slider was the quickest way to get it working, but a draggable text box with resize handles would be SO much more intuitive. You're right — seeing exactly how text fits on the canvas before downloading is a game-changer.
I'm definitely moving this up the priority list. Quick question: would you want the text box to be repositioned as well (like moving it up/down), or just resizing in place? Your feedback is super helpful for shaping this!

The local-only privacy angle is really refreshing, and the live preview makes tweaking text actually fun. One thing that would take this further for me: built-in meme templates with classic formats like Drake or Distracted Boyfriend so I can skip hunting for base images when I just want to remix a quick joke.

@sasaralwzc3 Thanks for the kind words! 🙏 I completely agree about the templates — it's the #1 request I've gotten. Adding classic formats like Drake and Distracted Boyfriend is now at the top of my roadmap. Stay tuned!

No signup was honestly such a relief, just pasted an image url and the text popped right on there. The live preview while tweaking the outline color made it really easy to get right.
"No signup" was exactly the pain point I wanted to solve. I've been in that position myself—just wanting to add a quick caption without being forced to create an account or hand over my email.
And I'm really glad you noticed the outline color! It was actually a late addition, but it makes such a huge difference for readability on busy backgrounds.
Quick question: what's the one meme format you usually create? (Reaction memes, announcements, or just funny stuff?) I'm working on a template library and your insight would be incredibly helpful!
P.S. Would you be comfortable if I featured your comment as a testimonial on the MemeForge website? (With your username, of course!) 🙏

Loaded up a quick cat photo and the live preview while typing the caption was way snappier than the meme site I usually use. Filters look solid too.
"Snappier than the meme site I usually use" — honestly, that's the best compliment I could ask for. Speed was a huge priority when I built MemeForge, so hearing that it actually feels faster in practice is incredibly validating.
And I'm glad you noticed the filters! I tried to pick a set that gives real creative flexibility without overwhelming people — just enough to make each meme feel unique.
Quick question: which filter did you end up using on the cat photo? I'm genuinely curious! 😸
Also — would you be comfortable if I featured your comment as a testimonial on the MemeForge website? (With your username, of course!) 🙏
