This would have saved my group a lot of time on our last trip. How many cities can you compare at once?
MeetPoint
@shawn_idrees Awesome! Currently it's limited to 4 people but I am considering to add more down the line. What size group would work for you?
Voquill
Nice concept. Tried it out and noticed the suggestions stayed pretty close to the travelers' regions. How does it work when everyone wants to meet somewhere else entirely? Congrats on the launch!
MeetPoint
@henry_habib Thank you! There's no such feature, but maybe worth adding :) For now it's trying to find the best intersection for everyone. I'll make note of this
MeetPoint
@henry_habib It now supports to specify a region you'd like to travel to

The 'Fairest' mode that minimizes cost gap rather than just finding the cheapest city is the insight that makes this actually usable for real friend groups. Does the ranking change meaningfully when you switch between Cheapest and Fairest modes?
MeetPoint
@dannyheng It does change, but how much depends on your group. With two people from very different parts of the world, the rankings stay similar — the same person tends to draw the short straw on both price and travel time to most destinations. Where it really kicks in is with 3+ people from different regions: Cheapest optimizes the total bill, Fairest protects whoever gets the worst deal on any given city. Try it with a group spread across continents and you'll see cities jump 3–4 spots.
Worth noting: we also just updated Fairest to factor in flight duration and layovers, not just price — so it now catches the case where someone pays less but spends 11 hours in airports.
Fairest mode is great. Though fair isn't only money, right? The person paying least might be the one doing 3 connections and 11 hours. Any plan to fold travel time and stops into the score so nobody carries it in a different way?
MeetPoint
@angelika_dev Great question!
"Fairest" scores each destination by asking: who has the worst deal, and how bad is it? For every person in the group, we calculate a travel burden: flight price + $15 for every hour in the air + $25 per layover. Then we rank destinations by whoever gets the worst burden — and try to minimise that.
So a city that's $50 cheaper for one person but forces them onto a 3-stop 11-hour journey will score worse than a slightly pricier city where everyone gets a direct 5-hour flight. The person paying least is no longer automatically "winning."
Amazing! This would have been useful many times before. Which airlines does the app compare price data from?
MeetPoint
@patrik_pyoria Thank you! It's currently using the tequila api from kiwi but I am considering to use more APIs comparatively if that's worth the squeeze
this solves such a specific and annoying problem. the WhatsApp back-and-forth of "what about Barcelona?" "too expensive for me" "okay what about Lisbon?" goes on forever. the "Fairest" mode that minimizes the cost gap between everyone is genius because that's always the real argument... not where to go but who's paying more

@tina_chhabra My favorite comment so far — thank you so much, really appreciate it. Feel free to share with your friends!
