MeetIsland turns the MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island for meetings. Your next call lives quietly around the notch and expands with a live countdown and a one-click Join button (Meet/Zoom) right before it starts. Zero setup — it reads calendars already synced to macOS. $6.99 once, 14-day free trial.

Honestly this is a clever use of the notch, kind of wish I'd thought of it. One thing that would seal the deal for me though, could you add a quick mute/unmute toggle right in the island? Having to dig into the meeting app mid-call kind of defeats the purpose of having everything glanceable.
Finally put that notch to work. The countdown popping up right before a Meet call is honestly so satisfying, and it picked up my calendar without any setup. Worth the seven bucks.
Finally, someone put that notch to good use. I had a Zoom call pop up with the countdown right around the notch, and it felt surprisingly natural — no more digging through my calendar to find the link.
love how clean this is and the zero-setup angle is genuinely nice. one thing id love to see is a little banner that pops up when the meeting actually starts and you forgot to hit join, maybe even auto-join after a few seconds if i dont respond
Took it for a spin on my M2 and the countdown popping right above the notch before a Zoom call feels weirdly delightful, and it picked up my Google calendar instantly without any setup faff.
The notch idea is genuinely clever, finally putting that black bar to work. One thing I'd love is the ability to see who's already in the call or a quick preview of the meeting agenda right from the island before joining. Would save the scramble to open Notes separately each time.
Finally a use for that notch that does not feel gimmicky. It just picked up my synced Google calendar and popped a countdown right before my last call, joining with one click was oddly satisfying.
