Matrix OS gives you and your AI agents a persistent computer in the cloud. Run Claude Code, Codex and other agents without tying them to your laptop. Keep your files, repos, terminals and apps running, close your laptop, and come back from any device. Run multiple agents in parallel, or self-host Matrix for full control.
I started Matrix at the Anthropic hackathon, building a self-expanding cloud-first OS.
I was so annoyed having to leave my laptop open for my coding agents. Then came OpenClaw and Hermes and I wanted to connect all my tools to my computer (and VPS) but it's not a easy task (not even with Mac mini).
Matrix gives you and your agents a persistent computer in the cloud, which makes it accessible from every device (desktop, browser and mobile), always on, and can easily be reconfigured to expand disk, ram, cpu.
AI agents are getting insanely capable, while the computer around them barely changed.
In Matrix your files, terminals, apps, services and running processes stay there, so you can start something on desktop, check in from your phone, and come back later to the same environment.
Weโve been building Matrix inside Matrix for the past few months and using it every day ourselves. Matrix is open source too, use Matrix Cloud or self-host it.
Would love for you to try it, push it hard and tell us what you think ๐ฐ

So excited this is live ๐
What made me want to join this team was how practical the vision is. Matrix gives everyone the ability to have their tools working even when your laptop is closed, and you can return from any device without rebuilding your setup. It feels like finally something that brings everything together.
I am incredibly proud of what this tiny, ambitious team has built. This is only the beginning, and we would love to hear what you build with Matrix OS and what you want us to improve next ๐
If you want to help build this mission with us DM me!

Very cool to finally ship this ๐
What sold me on Matrix was using it like a builder, not just hearing the pitch. Repos stay alive, agents keep working, terminals and services donโt disappear, and I can jump back in from another device without rebuilding everything.
That changes how you work with tools like Claude Code and Codex. You stop treating every session like a fresh start and start treating agents more like real collaborators inside a persistent environment.
And how amazing it is to jump on the flight and know that stuff will be done once you land ๐
Curious what other builders do with it ๐๐ผ and please reach out, we are looking for brand friends and would be mega cool to have you with us from such early stage ๐
