Marquee handles a real night out: you tell it what you want to hear, and it finds actual upcoming shows (SeatGeek), suggests related artists (Last.fm), and plans dinner, drinks, and parking near the venue (Azure Maps), with every structured event claim checked against retrieved records before it's shown so the AI can't invent prices or seat availability. GPT-6 Astra's role was in the building: most of Marquee's code, including the retrieval logic, the evidence checker, and the service integrations, came out of GPT-6 Astra sessions. At runtime the planner runs on Azure AI Foundry, with an optional local model.

Marquee started because I wanted to find a show. Then I wanted dinner nearby. Then somewhere to park, because I hate parking. And what's the venue's bag policy? Apparently I wanted to build a whole night out. I built most of Marquee using GPT-6 Astra. SeatGeek supplies live event listings, Last.fm helps discover related artists, and Azure Maps supplies nearby restaurants, bars, and parking locations. Spotify lets invited testers start with their own listening. The interesting work came when friends started testing it. Genre searches missed shows. Busy Fridays crowded out the rest of the weekend. The AI sometimes sounded more certain than its sources deserved. Those failures drove changes to retrieval, recommendations, and how the app explains what it actually knows. Marquee now checks structured event claims against retrieved records before presenting them. That doesn't make the source infallible, and it doesn't verify someone's opinion of a band. It does give us something more useful than an AI confidently making things up. There's also a local-model option alongside Azure AI Foundry. My computer occasionally has a prior engagement with Flight Simulator, so local availability varies. A few limits upfront: Spotify is an invited beta. Ticket prices and seat views aren't available through our current data access. Nearby parking listings don't guarantee a space, and venue policies still need checking with the venue. I'd appreciate people putting it through a real night-out request: your city, your music, your food preferences, your practical annoyances.
