Maitri explores a calmer approach to social media: public conversations, private circles, chat, polls, quizzes, and curated companions without designing everything around endless scrolling. It’s an early product, available on web and Android, built to explore whether a smaller, quieter social space can give people a reason to connect without competing constantly for attention.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m a software engineer, and Maitri started as a side project from a question I kept thinking about: does every social product have to optimize for more scrolling, more engagement, and more time spent?
I wanted to experiment with something smaller and calmer — public conversations when you want them, private circles for people you actually know, chat, polls, quizzes, and useful companion content.
I’ve built the web and Android versions and have been testing them with a small group. But there’s an obvious problem with that: many of the people who have tried Maitri know me personally. Friends are usually much better at saying “looks good” than telling you your product is pointless. 😄
So this launch is really about getting Maitri outside that bubble.
If you try it, I’d especially love to know: what, if anything, would make you come back tomorrow?
Criticism is genuinely welcome.
