@andreyazimov I can tell that you need to make a profit, cause $10 for something you can tweak yourself, without the app, in about 5-10 minutes.. jeez. It's a nice idea, dont get me wrong. And it does simplify it. But... $10?

If he sells enough the income could allow him to create even more useful things for other people. There is nothing wrong with selling something you created."

@levelsio you assume there that it's time free to buy the product, install it, figure out how it works, and then put the settings you want. It's sometimes longer than copy pasting a command from Stackoverflow to override the settings.

OMG! This is a must. Do you also take requests? Always quit an app, when you click on the red dot. Minimize all windows to reveal the desktop. Maximize windows to the edges of the dock. Cut and paste for files. Basically all the things that Windows does, that make your life so much easier.

@romanzadyrako learn the Apple official Human Interface and forget about Windows inconsistency, cmd-q (quit an app), Alt (alternative)+Click Window Border Plus Sign (Enlarge the Windows to Max Screen while Keeping the Dock Visible), ^ (control) + Alt + F (Fullscreen/Single App Mode, will hide the Dock), Reveal the Destop can be configured to any combination of keys in System/Expose. Never try to make a much better and consistent OS be Windows, if you what you want is that, you should keep on using Windows and abandon Mac consistency between almos every App, with the rare exceptions of th awful Apps ported directly from Windows and Adobe that hasn’t learned yet from what did happen to Flash when Apple said that it was a shit and wouldn’t be ever supported by its iOS devices.

@blakefolgado so much back and forth about that it is “NOT justified the $9.99” so why don’t we turn this around and ask “how much are you will to pay for this?” I mean think about it, that’s like 2 coffees. I gladly pay more then that if it indeed saves time!

@blakefolgado @laurens_laudowicz I don't get your point Laurens, but here's mine: people load up Product Hunt because of its promise: "Product Hunt surfaces the best new products, every day." If you stupid up the place with stuff that looks like a joke, well... You get the idea. So, considering that an app like this helps more the developer learning how to program, than the user being productive or anything, it should really be open sourced on Github. At least the author might get some meaningful contributions to make the app significantly better. Seriously, seeing this app running on anybody's mac would make me question whether that person is sane or not, because you actually have to go through the whole process of trying and buying something that definitely complicates your life. And paying 10 bucks for the privilege of wasting time and then complications. Perhaps you may consider a privacy scarf as your next purchase https://www.trendhunter.com/tren... thus limiting social consequences in public. So if I were to take you seriously, and the product too, the next question would be: how much would you pay for a Pet Petter http://totallyabsurd.com/petpett...? And finally: why nobody hunted down the Pet Petter here on PH already? I mean... isn't that convenient?

@blakefolgado @laurens_laudowicz BTW, I read now that my suspects were not so far-fetched after all: https://medium.com/@AndreyAzimov.... The actual goal of the author is apparently to keep himself financially afloat. Sure enough, I do really wish the author all the best, but I also think his process to be a little bit flawed and not so virtuous too. You should get wealthy as a result of your product's correct positioning and stuff, not as a result of your resolution to get money out of anything, or you dangerously deviate towards a dirty territory. But I digress...

As a developer, I would suggest people to update their operating system as often as possible. So disable system update notification is a bad move. You might want to use default retry tomorrow (or tonight) feature if you are working on something and cannot restart the computer, but you don't want to stop knowing when update is available. Keep your system up to date is always a smart move. I hope the existence of this app won't make people just ignoring updating their operating system. Except that, I think all other features can be benefits for all kinds of people. Good job.

@shantianyun There are many of situations where the tools we use are not yet compatible with new updates until weeks or months after the update and we can't take the risk of something breaking and losing precious time. A great example of this is Unity which does not play with new versions of macOS, except for critical security updates, every update for me is always a risk.

This seems like a super useful tool but I just cant get behind this name. MAGA isn't some like cute funny ironic thing to reference. They are literally putting kids in cages. I'd for sure change the name.

You do know that President Obama had twice as many children locked up as President Trump and that the photos of the locked up children came from the Obama administration. The name is very funny and memorable, regardless of where one is on the political spectrum (unless one is in the humourless camp).

@roninwood I also think the app is great, but this is proof that people buy products based on emotions because the name turned me off big time! Anything DT related is a big “no, no” for me. I do buy based on “packaging” and I couldn’t help to wonder if the creator of app is a trump supporter which they tend to be racist and mean, so I would not support anyone who voted for DT. But the product is great.

I can read here so many hate comments about how they could do it in a few minutes and why Andrey is asking $10. First of all, is not like you are forced to buy anything. If you consider it's not worth your money just ignore it. Secondly, not everyone is a developer. To do all those things manually, as you guys suggest, you should first do some research for each of the features, which will take time. If you don't want to trade time for money, it's again ok. I'm curious when you go to a Starbucks coffee. Do you guys know that you could do the coffee yourself? Why do you pay $3?

JakeWesorick said it first. All three benefits from the software can be googled and solved within existing hardware or device preferences. Why spend $10 to save yourself 10 min?

Learn to do these things yourself and you'll better acquaint yourself with your Mac.

And of course Mac OS X Mojave will be here in a few months. Learn to DIY and you won't be at a loss if the author/developer stops supporting the software.

Pros:

Makes it easy for people to get rid of annoyances with one easy app.

Cons:

Way overpriced for what it does. Especially when everything mentioned can be done in hardware/device preferences.
