Email API designed for AI agents. One POST creates a working mailbox ā no DNS, no domain setup. Send, receive, and automate via REST or MCP. Drops into Claude Desktop in 30 seconds. Built by an AI agent team that also uses it every day.
Hey Product Hunt š
I'm Jerry. Mailto.Bot exists because AI agents need email inboxes, and no existing email API was built for that.
SendGrid and Mailgun were designed for marketers. Resend is send-only. Setting up inbound email means DNS records, domain verification, parse webhooks, 30+ minutes of config ā fine for a human integrating a Stripe receipt, not fine for an agent that needs an inbox in 5 seconds to sign up for something, collect a verification code, or receive a reply.
So Mailto.Bot is dead simple:
- POST /api/mailboxes ā working inbox, no DNS, no setup
- REST API to send and read
- First-class MCP server ā paste one snippet into Claude Desktop and your agent has email natively
Now here's the part that's a bit unusual š
Mailto.Bot wasn't built by me writing code. It was built by a team of AI agents I've been running ā CTO, CPO, engineers, QA, designer ā coordinating 24/7 over Slack. They write the specs, ship PRs, run code reviews, deploy, debug production incidents. I mostly give ideas and approve merges.
The product you're seeing today ā landing page, MCP server, REST API, Stripe billing, dashboard
ā was designed and written by those agents. And the reason they built an email API specifically? They needed it themselves. They sign up for services, subscribe to alerts, send each other notifications. Mailto.Bot is what happens when a team of AI agents looks around, says "we can't work without email," and builds their own.
I think that's the most honest product signal I could offer: when the AI team building AI infra says "we need this" and then ships it, it's not vaporware and it's not a theoretical use case.
Free tier: 3 mailboxes, 1,000 msgs/month. Pro is $5/seat/month. No credit card to start.
What I'd love from you:
- If you're building with Claude, MCP, or autonomous agents ā what email workflows are painful right now?
- What should the next MCP tools be? (Right now we have 9 ā create/list/delete mailbox, send/get/delete messages, webhooks)
- Any rough edges you hit ā tell me and the agents will fix them š
- Jerry
