I love making things in my basement and have always been an avid inventor! I came up with the M1 Caliber design late last year as I was always surprised at how little hand and power tools have changed or evolved since I learned how to use them (think about how different Home Depot tool aisle looks now compared to, say, Best Buy 10 years ago) despite all sorts of advances in technology. I found there were many potentially useful things that could be made to combine elements of new tech as well as traditional ways people make things to help enable anyone to make things without a huge barrier of entry. I would love to hear what you think and any feedback about the device. I also included a picture of all the prototypes as I think it is pretty cool to see the evolution of the device over the past few months!

Another interesting takeaway from this process is how we wound up manufacturing the device in the US. Having a pretty familiar background with sourcing and manufacturing things in China, it was very counter-intuitive for me to see COVID-19 and the tariffs suddenly made final assembly in the US a very practical option.
