I was recently at a festival with friends with full bars on my phone but, because the spectrum was so jammed up, I had no service. I had no way to contact anyone if we got split up, and of course, I wasn't going to spend an hour waiting at the designated meeting point until my drunk friends decided they'd come and find me. This would have been really useful. I equate it to the pedestrian version of an avalanche beacon for backcountry skiers and snowboarders. I'm excited for the LynQ team and how far they've come. I've been hearing about this project for a few years now. They've even managed to raise a staggering ~$1.35 million on IGG.

I have used LynQ on the ski runs of Park City, at 11,000ft in the Unita mountains of Utah, in the whitewater of Costa Rica, and on my two samoyeds as they run through streams and roll in the mud. It has worked flawlessly in the most testing of conditions. I particularly like the 'Home' fuction, which enables me to get back to my car while I'm hiking during snow storms. Everyone should own one!

Used it at a festival and it was awesome – easy to see which way people went and to meet up with them. Often group management is super hard and there's always someone who doesn't pick up the messages, meaning you have to walk slow to get to the right scene or spend all day looking for your friends. With Lynq it's easy to wander off to a side stage with the comfort of knowing you can always get back to your friends later (or they can find you).

Pros:

Works without signal, doesn't let you get distracted in messages, sturdy design

Cons:

It's another device to carry and to charge so that needs to be coordinated a bit (especially if you're out and about the whole day)

Love that you understand how LynQ = freedom and peace of mind to do the things you love with the people you care about most. Thanks Magnus!

This really looks great guys! Well done. I'm picking up a four pack and looking forward to testing this once it rolls out in November.
Matthew Misbin
Thanks @jacquesvh ! We appreciate the support. LynQ has done a tremendous amount of prototyping and field testing across all the continents in different use-cases to arrive where we are. We are so excited to get you your 4 pack in November :)

Tried an early version at Coachella 2017 and it worked perfectly. It navigated me to a friend who I thought had walked in the total opposite direction. At the end of the day, the lynQ CTO was able to find me from half a mile away in the Uber line to retrieve the device. Amazing!

Pros:

Works flawlessly

Cons:

None

Justin Lange
Totally forgot about that! What a great moment. Thanks, Ritesh.

@shimmb you are not the first husband to identify this specific use case! 😂
