Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Varun, and I built Loupe. Why it exists: I spend my days in Kubernetes. I wanted a desktop client that was fast, open source for good, and honest about what it's doing. It should show you the same thing kubectl would, surface errors instead of hiding them, and make it hard to break production by accident. Loupe is Apache-2.0 and built in Rust, and it will stay free. What it does: 🔍 Browse everything. Pods, workloads, networking, storage, Helm releases and any CRD. Lists stay live through watches, and the columns match kubectl get because the API server does the printing. 📜 Logs that work. Stream, filter with regex, keep grep -C context, or merge every replica of a Deployment into one colour-coded view that follows the rollout. 🖥️ Shell and port-forward. Open a real terminal in any container. Port-forwards survive rollouts because the target pod is resolved on each connection. ✏️ Edit safely. Every apply shows a diff first. If someone changed the object underneath you, the write is rejected rather than silently overwriting their change. 🛡️ Guard production. Mark a context read-only, or require typing the context name before any write. This is enforced in Rust, not just hidden in the UI. 🚨 See what's broken. A Problems view shows everything failing across the cluster, and ⌘K finds any object, kind or action. What it doesn't do: Loupe holds no credentials of its own. It uses the kubeconfig kubectl already uses, so RBAC decides what you see. If a request is denied, Loupe shows you the error instead of an empty table. There's no account, no telemetry and no sign-up.
