Hi Product Hunt, I'm Okan, a mix engineer from Turkey. I mix rap, pop and R&B records, and the last check before a release is always the same: integrated LUFS, true peak, and how much Spotify and Apple Music will turn the master down.
I didn't want to send unreleased masters to someone's server for that check, so I built the meter I wanted. Loudmeter's online analyzer decodes and measures the file in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there's no account.
What it shows:
• Integrated, short-term and momentary LUFS, measured to ITU-R BS.1770-5 and EBU R128
• True peak, with every over marked in red on the waveform. Click a mark to hear that moment.
• LRA, PSR, PLR and stereo correlation
• Hear it on streaming: your file plays at the level Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer and SoundCloud would play it. Lossy qualities are encoded in your browser with each service's codec and bitrate, so you can switch between your original and Spotify's 160 kbps Ogg Vorbis while it plays.
If you want a number while you mix, there's also a Mac menu bar app ($9.99, one-time) that meters whatever your Mac plays, with no plug-in and no virtual audio device to set up, and a free iPhone and iPad app that analyzes files and mirrors the Mac meters over Wi-Fi.
I'd like to hear from people who master or release their own music. Does the streaming preview match what you hear on the services? Which reading is missing for you?
