Loki Eye is a network video recorder (NVR) for IP cameras on Windows, macOS and Linux. It records to your own disk, and your footage never leaves your network. It saves H.264 and H.265 streams exactly as your cameras send them, without re-encoding. Motion recording uses each camera's ONVIF events, including person and vehicle events, with adjustable pre-roll and post-roll. That keeps it light: eight 1080p cameras take 3% of one CPU core and 40 MB of memory. Record continuously or on motion, drag and save camera layouts, and play back every camera together on one timeline. Set retention by age, by a storage cap and by a free-disk floor. A local API serves MJPEG streams and still images to Home Assistant, Node-RED and openHAB. Loki Eye is free for two cameras with no account needed. A yearly or lifetime licence unlocks unlimited cameras and password-protected viewing from phones, laptops and wall displays. Loki Eye keeps recording offline for up to 48 hours between licence checks.
