We built Loical because we kept asking ourselves: why is it so hard to find out what's happening in your own neighborhood?
Events scattered across Facebook, volunteer opportunities buried on nonprofit websites, community boards no one checks the information exists, but it's impossible to find.
Loical brings it all into one place. We're starting in the Bay Area and focused on making local participation as easy as possible.
Would love to hear from this community: What's the biggest barrier that stops you from getting involved locally? Time? Not knowing what's out there? Something else?
Finally tried this out and the map view is genuinely useful for finding stuff I'd never have stumbled on otherwise. Liked how it surfaces volunteer opportunities right alongside meetups, feels like a real hub rather than just another events app.
One thing that would make Loical way more useful for me is a simple weekly digest push notification with the top 3 to 5 picks near me, so I do not have to keep opening the app to see what is new this week.
Honestly impressed by how many local events actually showed up near me when I tested it. Definitely feels like a more curated approach than the usual cluttered apps.
love how the app just surfaces what's actually nearby without burying it under a bunch of filters, feels like the design got out of the way and let the events speak for themselves
