I knew tools like Toggl and Clockify existed, but they always felt like overkill for what most freelancers actually need. So I built the first version of this web app a couple of months ago, released it on GitHub, and have been using it daily ever since. The goal was simple: frictionless time tracking that gets the job done without the bloat. After getting some great feedback from folks on Reddit and refining it over time, I figured it was ready to share more widely. Here's how it works: create your projects, break them into time frames as you go, and log your hours (or fixed amounts). It handles taxes and can email invoices on your behalf after you give them a final review. I also experimented with letting you log work by chatting with an AI instead of doing it manually. I'm genuinely curious whether other freelancers would find that useful, so you'd be among the first to try it out. The self-hosted version is still on GitHub if you'd rather run it yourself, and you can export your data and close your account anytime. I'm not based in the EU, but I think their data rules make sense, so the app respects them too.
