To be honest, I built this out of pure frustration. Working as a freelancer, sending files to clients was always a headache. Either the WeTransfer link would expire before the client even opened the email, or I’d hit my 2GB Dropbox limit and get nagged to upgrade. And making a client create an account just to download a simple PDF? It just felt like a terrible user experience.
I wanted a tool that just worked, so I spent the last few months building lod.ink.
The concept is simple:
You get 15GB of free storage, and your files stay there until you actually delete them (no annoying 3-day limits).
Anyone with the link can download the file instantly. No forced sign-ups.
Basic security like password protection and link expiration dates are completely free, because they should be.
Clients can preview documents and videos right in the browser without downloading them.
