Quick story. I kept hearing local business owners within my family say "I'm number one on Google, why do I need anything else?" And honestly, fair point. But then I started testing something. I'd ask ChatGPT "best indian restaurant in my area" and their name wouldn't show up. Not once. Meanwhile their competitor down the street? First recommendation.
That's the thing. AI search works completely differently from Google. Different signals, different data sources, different rules. And 57% of people are already asking AI for local recommendations. That number is only going up.
