I used to work at HashiCorp and one of our products called Vault focused on secrets management. Like it or not, plain text secrets are common in code for testing purposes especially in dev environments within enterprises.
Now that we are pasting that code into ChatGPT, its easy for those secrets to accidentally make it into training sets. You can see plenty of examples of this if you try to autocomplete export OPENAI_API_KEY= on GitHub Copilot or Cursor
