tl;dr: Boring Science or Life Moral → Engaging explanatory story where your kid is the main character. Hello, fellow makers! Our team is thrilled to introduce our first launch here: Little Story — Bedtime AI stories, powered and safety-verified by AI. We totally feel how parents struggle with coming up with nice bedtime stories every day - there are parents in our team! We believe the AI stories can be powerful, magical, and interesting. That's why we spent months on GPT4-prompting to make sure the stories are of high quality and engaging. There are already a few similar products on the market. Here is what we offer: ⚜️ Teach life lessons or science through captivating tales: even the most complex topics are delivered as engaging adventures. ⚜️ Longer stories for more engagement of up to ~10 minutes. ⚜️ An additional AI alignment layer makes it impossible to generate text that is not safe for kids. ⚜️ 11+ languages: already supported English, Hindi, Dutch, Ukrainian, Traditional Chinese, Russian, and more will be added soon. ⚜️ Each story comes with a unique set of charming visuals, matching the plot. ⚜️ Audio narration of each story (soon). ⚜️ Free Public Library with pre-generated stories. More details on how we imagine bonding family moments through AI-bedtime stories: ⚜️ Suitable for 0+ to 14-year-olds. ⚜️ Customize the topic or choose pre-defined moral of the story: honesty, care for the environment, patience, internet safety and many more. ⚜️ The Little Mermaid? Robin Hood? Dive into any universe - pick your child’s favorite movie, game, or book. Or explore one from our curated selection. ⚜️ Make the story truly special by making your child the main character. Stay tuned for extra features like audio narration, parent’s voice cloning and more languages! Special for the ProductHunt: 10% discount with the promocode WELCOME10 for any first purchase. Thank you for checking out this launch, and we're truly grateful for any feedback you provide! @alina_smirnova1 and I will be answering any questions you have (our website support email is also working, yay!).

During the lockdowns in 2020, I've had a hard time getting my kid to sleep because of no daycare and no outdoor play — took me literal hours reading the same books over and over again. The kid is now doing okay on his own, but this will be a total lifesaver for new parents!
Alina Smirnova
@alex_badarin Thanks for your comment, much appreciated! you are right, fairytales during the lockdowns would help the kids brighten up a bit and help to understand different reality in form of a comforting story. I wish such products existed in my childhood as well!
Germán Merlo
Hey @shiryaev! It's pretty impressive, all while putting us to sleep. Talk about killing two birds with one stone! Keep up the great work! 😉
Alina Smirnova
@german_merlo1 thank you very much for supporting our project! Just out of the curiosity: what was your favorite fairytale hero when you were a child? It is quite interesting for me to know about it from people who grew up in other countries.
Denis Shiryaev
@german_merlo1 thank you!
Germán Merlo
@alina_smirnova1 "El Principito" in Spanish (Le Petit Prince / The Little Prince)
Alina Smirnova
@german_merlo1 it is such a great story! Its wisdom resonates not only with kids but with many adults too. To be honest I did not fully grasp the essence of Little Prince and did not fell in love with it when I was young, but I re-discovered many more meanings of it maybe 10+ years later. It’s brilliant! The Little Prince setting is even possible to be used in generating tales via LittleStories (need to type “Little Prince” in Custom topic). My favorite story was Harry Potter, but 2 years back I mostly favor Harry Potter in the version of Eliezer S. Yudkowsky (Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality). I saved so many quotes from it, so definitely can recommend!

I love the idea of setting a moral of the story: finally the good kind of manipulation :) All the best with your launch! 🚀
Denis Shiryaev
@arseny_info Thank you 🫶
Alina Smirnova
@arseny_info Thank you! In my view (although I am not a parent), fairy tales with good morals are the "language of children." Sometimes it is such a good idea to drop straightforward moral or scientific reasoning and add some magic and adventure to all needed explanations. Btw even as an adult, I really enjoyed a custom-made fairy tale about the Fermi paradox generated in LittleStory. It was a super cute story about stars:)

Congrats on a launch! Will try to generate a tale about TJ that overcame fears and became greatest media 🌚
Alina Smirnova
@rimash Great idea! Haha that would be one of the most amazing tales that I wish come true one day! TJ is missed dearly.
Uladzislau Rymasheuski
@alina_smirnova1 however it's still in our hearts! :)
Alina Smirnova
@rimash there is one alternative platform that was opened straight after TJ got closed, this platform was made by one of the oldest and active members of TJ. That place is very different from the (very politics oriented) subreddit and also that platform partially preserved the TJ spirit (mostly the memes or casual posting, there are no editors or professional writers, no news posted daily). So a few hundred people from TJ are still hanging out there - just fyi. Ready to come back the day TJ is unblocked ;)
Uladzislau Rymasheuski
@alina_smirnova1 will appreciate if you'll share it with me (privately ot publicly). 'cause I left the subreddit just in few days after spotting mentioned disadvantages of subreddit
Alina Smirnova
@rimash I understand, that sub got too far from the original TJ. I will reach you in twitter then
Natella Nuralieva
So cool! Wish you success on the development - will try it out with my kid for sure. Congrats on the launch!
Alina Smirnova
@natella_nuralieva Thank you! We hope you both enjoy it! Please let us know about your experience with LittleStory later, it would be very appreciated <3 We are keen on improving and adding more features to help the parents as much as possible.
ILFAT
Looks great, good luck to you! Especially I like that timeline showing when the story ends and turning into button
Alina Smirnova
@iilfat big thanks for support and attention to those little features the team put effort in! If you have a moment - what do you think about the stories we got? And more importantly - which fairytale heroes inspired you in your childhood? ✨ @artem_legotin round of applause to you and Ilya (who is not here yet) too!
Sasha Pivnev
This app is a fantastic idea, especially for little ones who love listening to fairy tales. It's simple, fun, and perfect for sparking young imaginations.
Alina Smirnova
@pivnev Thanks! Totally agree, what can be better for imagination than listening to good fantasy tale:) What was your favorite story/fantastic universe when you were a child?
Sasha Pivnev
@alina_smirnova1 I've always had a deep fascination for stories about space and dinosaurs. The endless expanse of the universe, with its mysteries and wonders, captivates my imagination just as much as the ancient world of dinosaurs, a time so remote and different from our own. 🧐😀
