Ever found someone whose music taste is scarily similar to yours, but you never actually listen together?
Building listenw.us: open rooms where strangers (or friends) with your taste can drop in, queue songs, and listen perfectly in sync, no lag, no "wait let me catch up."
Still early days, trying to figure out: would you rather discover people through shared taste, or just invite friends into a room? Curious what pulls people in more.
Love the no-download setup and sync playback. One idea though: add a way to let room hosts pin a message or set simple house rules visible to everyone when they join, so the vibe stays consistent without mods having to repeat themselves in chat.
@metinbykl1qe8 Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. That's a great idea. I’ve actually been thinking about adding pinned messages and room rules. It would definitely help hosts set the tone and reduce the need for moderators to repeat the same information. I’ll add it to my roadmap!
A small feature that would make this way more fun: let room hosts pin a short description or mood tag for the room so people know what vibe to expect before joining. Right now the room list is kind of anonymous. Also a tiny optional intro line from the host would help break the ice faster.
@eminpelitoflsf Thanks for the feedback! I already have room descriptions and language tags for each room. So when you look at a room, you can see its genre, language, and a short description before you join. It's not fully anonymous. But pinning a short intro or mood message in the chat is a good idea. It would make the room feel more alive right when you join, instead of just reading a description before. I'm adding that to my roadmap 🙌
Adding a shared screen mode for music videos would be huge, so everyone can see the same visuals in real time rather than just the audio. Right now if someone adds a live performance or lyric video, it kills the sync feeling. A little floating player everyone can watch together would make those listen-along sessions way more immersive.
@trkanm9nm Hi Türkan, thanks for the comment! We actually already have this. The player shows the music video thumbnail, and lyrics are synced with the song in real time. Also, the platform isn't meant for watching videos together, the goal is listening together, chatting, and socializing with people who share your music taste. Appreciate you checking it out and sharing feedback
