LinguStream helps you learn German through real media on Android. Import YouTube videos with available captions, read EPUB books, transcribe podcast transcripts, tap for context-aware translations, get AI explanations, and save vocabulary as you go. Built for learners who stay engaged with content better than drills. Also supports Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built LinguStream because, while learning German, I felt there was still a gap between existing tools and the way I actually wanted to learn.
LingQ showed the value of learning from real content, but I wanted better YouTube integration and more control over importing my own media. Lingopie is polished, but I wanted a more customizable library built around my own interests.
So I built LinguStream around YouTube, custom media, and vocabulary building tied directly to the content you choose. I also wanted it to be free to start.
What it does:
• import YouTube videos with available captions
• read EPUB books with clickable word translation
• use podcast transcripts for listening practice
• get AI explanations in context
• save vocabulary across media
The strongest fit right now is for people learning German through media, but it also supports Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
I’d especially love feedback on:
• whether the value proposition is immediately clear
• whether the Android onboarding feels smooth
• whether the transcript + vocab workflow feels useful enough for daily use
And thank you to everyone who tested the app and gave feedback before launch. That input shaped a lot of what’s live today.
Happy to answer anything here.
