Yeah, there are a bunch of these design tools. The guys over at Matter.io pivoted to jewelry from their design mash up tool because it's hard to make money and grow a business without a large audience for this. I'm not sure how many people are excited to design lego-like items yet.
When 3D printers become more mainstream in a few years these will be more popular, I think, but also realize a lot of the printer companies (and Microsoft for that matter) are making these tools as well.

@Evanish@rrhoover It's hard to know what their goals are...if they're trying to become millionaires and corner the market, then I tend to agree with you...but what if they just want to have fun and make cool stuff?
I am sensitive to this stuff, because I have a full time job and I'd love to have a side project that makes something useful and fun for people but doesn't necessarily have to get me full time, VC-backed, startup superstardom. (Shoutout to anyone reading this-- I need a new side project!)
