Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm incredibly excited to launch my new project: Language Tools Directory, a directory of the best tools to learn any language 🗣️ As a polyglot (I speak 6 languages), I was frustrated not to find all the options to learn a new language. I started manually curating tools and decided to make it a directory! The directory has 100+ tools and I add new ones every day. Language Tools Directory has a different set of filters to find the right tool for you to learn a language: 1. Filter by the language you are learning 2. Filter by pricing 3. Filter by tags For language app owners, you can submit it to the directory. Premium submissions get a dofollow backlink + extra exposure 🚀 There is still much to be done, here is the roadmap: - Add reviews to products (WIP) - Add social media accounts - Add the ability to upload pictures - Improve the filtering system with tags - Start redacting in-depth manual reviews of the products Your feedback and support mean the world to me. It's my first side project in a while, so feel free to share your thoughts on how I can improve it! 🙏 Thank you, Nicolas
Jan Heimes
I met Nicolas last year. He is a very talented polyglot. 🗣️🚀
Nicolas Le Roux
@jan_heimes thanks Jan, can't wait to be able to speak in German with you!
William Mills
This is such an amazing tool. Have you considered adding real-world case studies or testimonials from polyglots?
Nicolas Le Roux
@iamwilliammills yes! I will start writing in-depth reviews of the tools myself. I also added reviews from third-party websites when possible (see Duolingo page)
Stephen Wilkes
How do you decide which tools to include? Is there a specific rating system you use?
Nicolas Le Roux
@stephen_wilkes I started adding the tools I like and use myself. Then, people can submit their tools and I review them before approval.
John Finch
@nico_lrx Do you offer any guidance on which tools are best suited for specific goals, such as conversational fluency versus grammar mastery?
Nicolas Le Roux
@johnfinch yes, I use the filters for that. You can for example select "English" and then the "pronunciation" filter to see the app focusing on this in particular.
Leo Cobain
How do you make sure to add new high quality tools while removing outdated or ineffective ones?
Nicolas Le Roux
@leo_cobain I review each one of them manually before approval.
Julien Le Coupanec
Good work Nicolas :)
