Hi Everyone! Super excited to be launching my first product on PH. 😀 Langotalk is probably the 4th/5th AI-related product I'm building since DALL-E came out, and definitely the one I invested in the most. I'm a solo founder and I got a little help from my super professional friends to build/ideate it. My passion was always building B2C products that many people love, especially in education, because they can really affect people's lives for the better. A friend suggested this idea while I was working on a more general AI Chatbot product, and it seemed like the perfect pivot for me to work on. He was right, ChatGPT came out and made my original idea much less needed. A little bit about the problem: After talking to dozens of people learning a language, I realized that finding a good language pal is a huge pain point. People are excited to practice their language, but don't have enough people in their lives to do it with. While they had some good experiences with language exchange websites, they also raised a lot of issues there. I realized that AI could be an excellent solution for them, and after looking into similar products, I decided it can have a big impact on a lot of people, and it's worth my time and money to build it. Since then, Langotalk was already used by over 5,000 learners, and we're just getting started :) We're starting to get some really amazing feedback from our users, and there's still so much to build and value to add. Can't wait to hear your feedback and see how to make it even better! Also always happy to discuss collaborations of all sorts.

@denis_galka Hi, thanks a lot! It currently supports English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch and Italian. More languages are in testing mode: Portuguese, Japanese and Mandarin (Chinese). We take requests as well haha.

@arielverbz can you PLEASE let me know when you add Japanese? 🙏🏻 I use ChatGPT to practice Japanese already and it works pretty well, but I'd like to try having a separate "app" to go to for language practice + the build in grammar tips sound helpful.

no pricing is mentioned on the homepage from what I can see... can you advise? also what languages do you cover?

@simon_s_j Hi Simon! We cover English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German. More languages should be added this week once we make sure it's accurate enough. It's free to try with a daily limit, but a subscription opens up new features, the yearly plan is currently $59.99 a year after a 7-day free trial.

@arielverbz Great Ariel...I am waiting for Indonesian! Having price upfront is a great move, particularly when it is very reasonable as in your case!

@simon_s_j @arielverbz consider mentioning the price upfront. It feels really scammy if you don't mention the price at all (visitors assume it's free) and then, AFTER you make an account, it tells you you'll need to pay 60$.

@andrewalex Thank you! If I'm not mistaken, the feature you're talking about is a feature for native apps, Langotalk is currently a web app so you can simply increase font size in the browser 🙏🏼

@arielverbz Thanks for your reply Ariel. I checked it on my iPhone. It’s usable with no more than 125% zoom however some things are overlapped. Also, I didn’t find a button to speak text, it’s a pain to select text then find and choose that command in the menu. Anyway, I like the idea and I’m sure everything is just beginning. Good luck!
