Edit 2019-10-30: We've released some updates to Land Ho today. An easier-to-use initial search screen, bug fixes, and a new Search Engine. Hope you enjoy. --- Land Ho allows users to perform web queries across popular internet search engines and save the history of their queries securely within their Blockstack account. Queries can then be repeated on different engines by simply toggling between them. And even though search history data can be accessed by the user (and the user alone), it can also be easily deleted at the user's discretion. Our aim is to displace centralized systems of control by building bridges between familiar systems and new ones. Land Ho is only one piece of that puzzle, and we are proud to add one more way that users can slowly, but surely, take back control of their digital lives. Challenges we’re aware of… despite the fact we’re quite happy with what we accomplished here in a short period of time. We had to rely on iframes which don't give much flexibility (to say the least) and some results won't load as a result without right-clicking to open the link in a new tab. We hope to add new functionality, stability, and improved UX in the future. But in the mean time, we’re super excited to have you test out this first release with us!

Private search is important to me. I find the fact that today my personal queries are shared with advertisers quite disturbing. The layout and easy navigation around Land Ho is what attracts me to this product. The fact that search queries are private and can be managed directly marks Land Ho a definite winner in my book!

This is great, is there a way to setup a search engine keyword in Chrome/Brave so I can search in the address bar with :lh?
Dan Trevino
@justinphelan Great question! We're working on this and other ways to make search easier and more seamless!

Great product so far! I will use it daily. My regular workflow is this: I use DDG in Brave, and parallel, having g****.com opened in an incognito window (I know this approach is not perfect, but it was the best I found to mix the usage of DDG and Big G). I have a question regarding the fingerprinting used by the Big G: Land Ho is not a proxy server neither a VPN routing program, for instance, it doesn't mask my IP address. If I use any Big G product (like Youtube or Gmail) directly logged-in from a Brave tab, Big G is registering my IP address and linking it to my Big G account. So, if I open BigG.com search from Land Ho, Big G could understand that it is me. Although Big G might promise that they only registered logged-in user data, it's tentative for them to store data related to a single profile, considering IP address connections, for example. Any hint of how to tackle this?

@unclemimo This is the conundrum, right! I have the same issue. Currently we do not plan to extend into anonymizing proxies or tor or whatever, but there seems to be an appetite for more/better disambiguation from the Suveillance Capitalists, so that is something we will need to consider. As you correctly imply, Land Ho gives you the same level of anonymity (or lack thereof) as Incognito mode.
