Hi Product Hunt! I'm Mariya, and I made Lampada for myself.
I get distracted when I pray, and sometimes I don't know what to pray about. A paper journal helped me stay focused, but I stopped writing by hand long ago. So I asked myself what would actually help: good questions about what I'm thinking through, Scripture, and a place to keep my answers, including spoken ones.
How it works: you write what's on your mind and choose how long to pray. AI asks a few gentle questions, each building on your last answer, and Lampada finds Bible passages that fit. You answer by typing or by voice, or just sit with the question. At the end comes one closing question: what do you want to take into your day?
A few things that matter to me:
• Lampada never prays for you or speaks for God. The questions are only prompts, any of them can be skipped, and AI works only with your permission.
• Your prayers, answers and recordings are kept on your device. No ads, no analytics SDKs, no trackers.
• It's free, and I plan to keep it free and cover the AI costs myself. The code is open source (MIT).
Lampada builds on Bible Garden, my free audio Bible app, which already had the Bible texts, narration and verse alignment. Getting Lampada ready took about three months of weekends. It's iPhone-only for now, with an Android version coming next.
I'd love your feedback: which questions helped, which felt off, and what you'd want from a prayer companion like this.
