Hi PH! Rob and I love investing and are always chatting with friends about different trades we’ve made (especially in a year as volatile as this!). As a fun side project, we built an easy way for us and our friends to do this by themselves. Before the money printer stops going brrr, we thought we’d share with the lovely PH community :) Laguna is a personal page for your stock trades and holdings. Once you create your own custom page, you'll be able to import your trades automatically (🙏 Plaid) or manually, notify followers/friends through text, and grow an audience. Our early users include -Casual traders sharing with friends & family to keep them updated -Stock influencers sharing on social media to build an audience -Investors sharing trades with followers over text -We even have some using it as a faster and better way to see their holdings over Robinhood We would love to get some feedback (and/or fintwit jokes that make us laugh)! What new features should we add next?

@parth_chopra Great idea, but how do you guys ensure compliance with SEC ? sharing your trades and 'influencing' others without being a financial consultant can be considered ill-practice. Plus, social trading with large amount of followers that can lead to influencing share prices would be frowned upon too. Learning from wsb forum, they are anonymous and posts are full of disclaimers and they are trying really hard not to show up as 'organized'.

very cool idea but somehow I feel unease giving you my credentials to login my broker through plaid. Like, you never give your password for bank to a 3rd party, it's the first OPSEC rule. What are your team's thoughts around this issue?

@aris_alexis Totally understand. We use Plaid, which is a 5B+ company that handles all of this and they're incredibly secure (see https://plaid.com/security/). We never have access to your credentials. In fact, if you've used Mint, Robinhood, or any other finance app where you connect to a bank account, they're all powered by Plaid!

@parth_chopra Personally, I’d like to be able to have friends/connections. An activity feed with their updates. Ability to tag people with my updates. Maybe the ability to leave comments on updates, as if each trade was a unique social media post.

Congrats on the launch! is this more focused on analysts and other self-taught trading wizards monetizing their stock picks /content? I'm interested to see how you plan on differentiating from Public's investing social network.

@loslivs You got it. Our users are analysts, people that run their own newsletter, or are running their own paid discord community. Influencers with a Laguna page are interested in maintaining their own brand/positioning and aren't as interested in using an app.

Loving this so far. My conversations with “fin-friends” (is that a real term?) are mostly comprised of convoluted screenshots of trades. This is the social component that Robinhood is missing. Excited to see what the future has in store!
