Hi Product Hunt, I’m Luke, one of the founders of Korkuma, and I am super excited to give you my take on the market we are joining with this tool. Live shopping, livestream shopping, or livecommerce (call it whatever you want) is a massive new trend with a lot of potential. If you are new to ecommerce you should check out our blog where we talk about it a lot, but to cut a long story short, live shopping held an estimated worth of $70 billion at the end of 2020, and that’s only in China. Now that livestream shopping is slowly making its debut in Europe and the US, the market for livestream shopping solutions in these regions is lacking in competition between companies that provide this service. Most of our competitors are either expensive, lack proper data protection, or aren’t user friendly. As a child I had to always wake up super early for school. Since my parents are not morning people, conversation was off the table so I used to eat my breakfast with the TV on. The only shows that early on, however, were infomercials (also known as teleshopping in Europe). I never had the money to buy anything, but I always enjoyed the entertainment. There is something super niche and super stylized about infomercial, the subtle blend of retail and entertainment that always had my attention. Given the recent massive rise of similar trends in SE Asia I'm really glad I have had the opportunity to work on something I remember fondly from my younger years. So keep in mind that infomercials are back bigger, stronger, and live! Hope you all love our new sales tool.
