Hey Product Hunt 👋 I got incredibly frustrated that established watch-party tools completely ignore self-hosted media servers like Emby, Jellyfin or Plex. So, I decided to scratch my own itch and built my own alternative: KoalaSync. It's a free, privacy-first browser extension that perfectly syncs video streams in real-time. What makes it different? 🌍 Universal: Works on Emby, Plex, Netflix, YouTube, Twitch & pretty much any HTML5 video. 🚫 Frictionless: Absolutely no accounts, sign-ups, or databases. Just generate a room link and share it. 💻 Self-Hostable: It works out of the box, but you can also completely self-host the real-time WebSocket backend yourself via Docker. ✨ QoL Features: Handles TV show auto-syncing (waits for everyone before playing the next episode) and smart tab matching.
