I've been playing with the app for a few weeks during the beta. This is a nice evolution of The List App and I especially appreciate the focus on creating an environment that doesn't encourage troll (I'm constantly self-editing and censoring myself on Twitter). @grexe It’d be great if PH had an auto-filter based on devices you own so you didn’t have to see products you can’t use. It’d save time for everyone involved.

@nicholist I perfectly understand your point, working in a small startup myself. Sadly there is no way to configure PH notifications based on tags, though. And I'm actually happy because I don't want to live in an Android filter bubble. Wouldn't a cross-platform framework be an option here?

@nicholist @grexe I'm a fan of cross platform frameworks, but sometimes it's hard to get the UX just right when you're working with an abstraction of native development. Not a Kiyo team member, but I can understand why they might avoid it.

@grexe The idea isn’t about being in a bubble, it’s about optional filtering for more relevant results. Android users don’t want to see iPhone apps when they search Google Play, so why would they want to see them on a platform built to help them find new products? As for cross-platform development, man I wish it was that easy! I don’t know enough about the biotech space to give a good analogy, but suffice to say that if it were already easy to build one cross-platform app that users love, you wouldn’t see so many iOS-only apps launching here. I'm sure the cross-platform development frameworks will keep improving, but until it's possible to build a truly native experience on multiple platforms, all written in one language, with plenty of flexibility, it's not going to be widely adopted by developers.

I really like the idea and the inspiration behind building Kiyo (nice name too😎). I just find it little similar to 'Story Highlights' on Instagram where I categorise and add personal moments from my life and unlike regular stories, it's always there on my profile. But not showing number of views is a pretty bold move and a good differentiator. Will keep a close eye on how Kiyo progresses. Good luck guys 😄

I have been using it for several weeks now and I really like the app. I see myself sharing things I won’t share on Twitter, things more personal. I appreciate the fact that I can categorize things, for example travel photos, Shower thoughts,... What’s is the next step ?

Unrelated point, the Product Hunt discussion/comment thread system needs polishing. Hard to navigate (at least on iPhone), not clear where sub comments start and end when scrolling, adding a comment brings back to the top, indentation for replies makes content more « squashed », lots of white space & low contrast which might please Jony Ive but makes it harder to know at a glance where things are/what to do (quick feedback from a very happy/frequent PH user on mobile - cc @rrhoover)

I actually really love that idea that all responses are private. And I like the idea that it can be compartmentalized. I don't have the full effect of the app since I have literally zero friends on this app, but seems neat. Good luck!
