I can see this being especially useful for people who understand English but struggle to quickly find the right words when writing. Nice concept!
@zubairu_ahmedย Glad you like it!
Learn English as you type Chinese with Keysake, a free macOS input method. โจ๏ธ It brings
learning into a habit you already have, with your own conversations, work, and ideas as
the material.
Language learning often means making time for another routine: opening an app, finding
material, and shifting your attention. Even after studying vocabulary and textbook
examples, you may still wonder how to express what you mean in a real conversation. ๐ฌ
Keysake connects learning to daily expression in three ways:
1. โจ๏ธ Start with a habit you already have.
As you type Chinese, English appears alongside it. You keep writing your original
message, without a separate translation request or app switch. An everyday task becomes
an opportunity to notice useful English.
2. ๐ก Learn from what you actually want to say.
A work update, dinner plans, or a half-formed idea: the content comes from your real
life. You're not just seeing English. You're connecting something you already mean with
another way to express it.
3. ๐พ Keep the expressions that matter to you.
Right-click to save the current word, phrase, or sentence. Press Space twice on any
input candidate to save the associated full sentence, even before you've finished
typing it. Over time, you build a personal expression library shaped by things you've
actually wanted to say.
This release supports Chinese input with English display on macOS. Japanese, Korean,
and more languages are coming soon. ๐ Next up are iOS and cross-device sync. Deeper
grammar and usage explanations, AI answers to your language questions, and practice
tools are on the roadmap. ๐ค
Chinese-to-English is the starting point. The vision is language learning that grows
out of everyday expression.
We'd love to hear how Keysake fits into your everyday typing. โจ
Congrats on the launch! This looks really interesting and useful. Wishing you a great launch day! ๐
I like the idea of โโlearning from the very sentences you were already planning to type. It seems much more practical than interrupting your workflow just to learn vocabulary.
This way of displaying English is also quite clever. Seeing the natural structure of sentences as you type can help new expressions sink in better without feeling like a separate lesson.
This feels much more practical than traditional vocabulary apps. Seeing English alongside what youโre already trying to say could make new words stick much more
I really like the idea of showing natural English while typing Chinese. It makes learning feel simple and easy to fit into your daily routine.
@oliver_graf1ย Glad you like it! We want to turn your everyday typing into a way to learn Englishโso you can learn the phrases you use most and put them to use in real life.
