A little backstory:
Being a developer and coder, I've always tried to find the easiest and most efficient way of getting work done. With the rise of AI and how much better it has gotten over the years, I've found myself using it more and more for simple tasks or just asking it things I would have previously googled. This came with its conveniences, such as getting the answer you're looking for immediately, but also its drawbacks. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I found myself asking it "what is that docker command to bring down my container and remove all of its volumes" a few more times than I would like. I realized it would just be easier to ask the question again instead of scrolling through my chats to try and find it.
So why did I build it?
My experience had made me go out and try to find a tool that could keep all the little pieces of code or commands I had searched for in one central space. This is no new concept and no revolutionary idea; however, I wasn't quite satisfied by what was out there already. I then decided I'd create a tool for myself to solve this issue.
How is it different?
Everything I saw seemed very clunky and over-engineered. What I set out to build was something simple that solved the issue I was having. Since I am a solo founder and developer of this project, there are still some efficiencies that I am adding, but the core functionality of being able to save and access snippets for both my personal use and for my work team has been something we've come to rely on.
I see this being a useful tool for all developers, especially teams where people have notepads filled with useful commands. I'm sure we've all been there at least once—you ask someone or someone asks you "hey, please send me...". This is what I hope to make easier by centralizing all of that information.
