Hey everyone 👋, I'm Hung, creator of Kari.
"Kari" is Japanese for temporary. I got this idea from the chaotic notes that I collect in Apple Notes during my day. These notes usually consist of random info, API keys, quick ideas, calculations, and even code snippets or JSON responses from APIs. This workflow worked fine for the most part, but I thought it could still be better and easier, so I built Kari!
If you take notes in a scratchpad, keep email/Slack drafts in text files, and do calculations in your head or using Google, this app is for you.
Kari unifies these abilities into a markdown scratchpad with code blocks. You can do math calculations, evaluate JavaScript, and inspect results—ideal for developers who use Chrome’s console for quick JavaScript experiments.
But that's only the beginning. We are planning to add more features to make Kari blend better into your workflow, allowing for more types of experimentation and calculation, and protect your privacy (think of all the sensitive API keys and sensitive messages that you often write in your scratchpad!).
