I understand your initial skepticism -- I had a similar sentiment towards light therapy (also known as photobiomodulation, or low-level laser therapy) prior to launching Joovv back in 2016. Before Joovv, I spent my entire career in traditional medtech leadership positions at companies like Medtronic and Covidien. I initially thought it was “woo woo” science, but as I started to dig deeper into the peer-reviewed clinical literature, I was surprised (and excited) about what I learned. Light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers concentrated wavelengths of light to both superficial and deep tissues. It has been around for a while, but it gained national attention when NASA started researching it in the 90s. As I mentioned above, it's important to note that the benefits of light therapy have been studied in depth in more than 1,000 peer-reviewed scientific papers and clinical trials.
