Jam Pod brings the iPod Classic back to Android — real click wheel, monochrome screen, scrolling menus. Plays your own local files and podcasts, not a streaming catalog: FLAC/AIFF support, smart + custom playlists, genre browsing, 5-band EQ, sleep timer with fade, 8 iPod-era themes. One-time purchase, no subscription, no ads, no algorithm. Currently in closed beta — join here to install: [Google Group link]

Jam-Pod
This is a nice product, especially because it would allow me to listen to my favourite playlists offline. I mostly create music playlists for different moods on @Suno and then download them onto my devices because I never can trust the internet to always be on my side. Lol. Congrats @gianpaolo_campolion the launch. What customization options are available right now? Skins? UI?
Jam-Pod
@patofthefuture Hey! thank you for your feedback. Yeah Jam-Pod can work great with this. Your can create your own custom playlist inside the app, and also rename artist or album. As customization you will find 8 different skins, wheel color (mixable between them), light or dark screen, and two different menu interfaces, minimal and classic (iPod style). And also wheel speed and an balanced EQ!!
Love the idea and your design language! We really need less subscriptions and lean more into things how used to be. I hope to see some love shown at us IOS users as well! Since switching to Iphone this year although I have been enjoying the smoother experience overall, some of Apple's security requirements are really a pain! Like no system wide EQ balancing for music, that means no way to balance any notes from any streaming services like Spotify or Youtube Music or even Apple music. The only way to do so is through an installed app with an offline library AND an Equalizer. Not me nor anyone on Reddit has found a app which does not require a, frankly, outrageous subscription for it. If there are plans to expand under the same monetization model (one time purchase!) I'm sure a lot of us appreciate it!

@kush_raj_chawla Thanks for the feedback! Jam-Pod for iPhone was launched last week, I invite you to take a look. You will find it between my other apps. And yeah the problem you talk about is real, Apple is very strict about a lot of things. I could put an EQ only on the local files music and not for the streamed one.
This looks fantastic, the click wheel nostalgia alone makes me want to try it. One thing I'd love to see is a simple "lock wheel" toggle that disables touch input during workouts or pocket carry, since accidental scrolls are basically inevitable when the screen is off. Could probably live right in the now-playing screen.
Jam-Pod
@efeqglThanks a lot! Yeah I was thinking about a toggle to lock the wheel. At the moment when I want to use my phone like an iPod I activate the block on screen for the app so I turn off the screen when in my pocket and when I unlock the phone my Jam-pod is there waiting. I use to do this on my old phone, now I use only as music player with my app.
honestly the click wheel scrolling feels so much better than i expected on a touchscreen, and loading my own flac library without any streaming nonsense is kind of a dream. looks great too

@grkemhasanlmce Thanks! Glad you appreciate both the haptics and the look! I focused a lot in a simple and user friendly interface, and haptics was a great part of it!
