📌Hey everyone, Ryan here - the maker.
I built InvestLens because I kept seeing property investors (myself included) commit money on buy-to-let deals without really understanding the risks. Spreadsheets and gut feeling only take you so far, and I wanted a tool that gives clarity and confidence before investing.
The goal is simple: help investors answer, “Does this deal still work if things go wrong?” So I started with a basic calculator to estimate cashflow and yield. As I worked on it, I realised just giving numbers wasn’t enough — people needed to see how resilient a deal is under different scenarios. That’s why I added stress tests for interest rate changes and void periods, plus a confidence score that quickly shows whether a deal is solid or risky.
The approach evolved a lot during development. At first, it was just about showing numbers, but I learned the real value comes from helping people make faster, more informed decisions. I also tried to make it easy to understand at a glance — showing outcomes in a clear, visual way so investors can see the impact of changes without getting lost in spreadsheets.
It’s still an MVP, but I’m learning a ton from early users about what’s intuitive and what helps people actually feel confident about their decisions. Feedback on the features, flow, or clarity would be hugely appreciated.
