Hi everyone! My name is Coby Skonord, I'm the Co-founder & CEO of Inventalator. I started working on Inventalator about 2 years ago with the mission of reducing the cost, risk and complexity of invention for those who did not have the time or resources to bring their idea to market by themselves.
I believe in our mission so much that I left my job at a big four accounting firm that I had worked for 5 years to land a job with on day one. We are looking for individuals who believe in our mission to join us to change the world of product development forever.
Our system uses crowd-voting to identify market need for inventions submitted on our platform. If enough market need is identified for an idea, it is sent through a crowdsourced development process that includes market and technical research, prototyping, and of course crowdfunding.
Inventors that make it through our process can either connect with our manufacturing partners to get their product produced or can connect with our channel partners to license their idea. Looking forward to your thoughts & comments! Thanks for checking us out!
@Cobskee - this is kind of a crazy idea. :) What are the most successful/interesting creations that have come out of Inventalator?

@rrhoover the craziest ideas are always the most disruptive ;). But since we recently launched our beta (about a month ago), we are looking for those creative ideas now to test out our system and process.
We have a couple in the works right now, including a motion detection system with an app that helps people ensure that their kids aren't drowning in the pool, and another that helps detect if the sauces in your refrigerator have gone bad (happens to me all the time), but haven't really promoted the platform much yet as we were working out a lot of the bugs.
Now that those are mostly worked out, we are looking to grow our community of inventors, technology consumers, industrial designers, and engineers and get some more ideas related to the physical technology space out of peoples heads and into the marketplace!
I went to a beacon-focused hackathon a few months ago and someone pitched a product to detect when a child falls into a pool. Hundreds (maybe thousands?) of children die each year from this. :(
I think the idea is great! It is very common where entrepreneurs do not share their ideas, start implementing without validation, and try to solve issues in the process all by themselves. Utilizing wisdom of crowds in every step of the process makes a lot of sense.

Thanks Gozde,
I checked out your website and think your idea is great as well! Prediction markets are the coolest, and I think one of the burning questions at the back of peoples minds is always "Does my salary really reflect what my skills & experiences are worth?"
I'd love the opportunity to set up a phone call and talk some more about the communities we are building and how to leverage the wisdom of crowds to change the world! If you're interested, please feel free to reach out to me by email at coby@inventalator.com

According to the member that submitted the idea on our website @rrhoover the number of children that die in pool drownings is about 300 per year. But, although this number is relatively small (don't get me wrong, one child dying from a pool drowning is still too many) but I feel like this type of solution would be successful because of the perception / prevention that parents want to take to keep their kids from drowning, no parent with a pool wants their child to be one of the three hundred!
