What do you think? …

Thanks for copying not only my idea but also the name of my app! I can't do anything about you copying my idea because it's the Internet, but why did you take the name of my own app? I have founded AutoHash in Sep 2016 and it seems like you are trying to ride on my app success. This is not cool at all and PH shouldn't promote you. Good look with your app!
Uri Eliabayev
This is the app BTW: https://goo.gl/vhPE2C

@urieli17 We're sorry. Taking the app name was a mistake on our part. We do not intend to ride on your app's success. We sincerely respect your super-useful app and apologize for the mistake. Our app is meant to be a demo of the powerful Imagga APIs and is completely open source. The app will forever remain free without ads. Our hope is that other developers in the community can build much more powerful and innovative apps using the Imagga APIs.
Jitesh Dugar
@urieli17 And, we have changed the app name. It is no longer Auto Hash
Uri Eliabayev
@jitesh_dugar Thanks for the quick reply and for changing the name. Good luck with you app.

shame.

Pros:

not the original product

Cons:

not the original product

Is it simply an AutoHash rip-off? Sorry man, but copying an app without any additional value (with a much poorer execution) is not cool.
Rishabh Dugar
@roypovar , amazing to see how you are making multiple comments to let our non-profit product down. What are your thoughts on "Google Cloud Vision " or "imagga" , would you call them a rip off as well or any such app which uses those API?
Roy Povarchik
@rishabh_dugar dude, you changed your name mid-day. You had the same name. That’s a ripoff.
Rich Smith
@roypovar @rishabh_dugar ...You literally had the same name. I find it difficult you didn't think to google it, but instead figured you'd ride their wave. Fo shame.
Roy Povarchik

I'm using a product called Autohash for some time, which basically does the same thing. Only better. This one seems to just trying to spin off the success of the other product.

Pros:

The idea they copied was good.

Cons:

It's a ripoff of a much better app.

Rishabh Dugar
Hi @Roy, this is Rishabh, another maker of this app. I dont believe someone owns this idea, there are plenty of API's like "Google Cloud Vision" or "Imagga" which provides this, we have just implemented an interface which too is open source. I dont know what makes you feel that we have done something "evil" by doing so. Please justify as this is highly demotivating after having thought to contributing to open source.

Hello Community Lovers, When posting images on Instagram, we often might have to spend some time thinking of hashtags to use for the image. My brother Rishabh & I came across powerful image processing API from Imagga and decided to build an app that would fetch hashtags suggestions for any image uploaded. This app is a prototype of how the Imagga API can be used to build apps. It is open source and can be used to build more useful and powerful apps. Do leave a feedback and star on github :) API Credits - https://imagga.com/ Thank you!

WooW! This looks an amazing Product. Would you like to get this Product Story covered by us as a Blog Post?
Jitesh Dugar
@vineet18del Thanks for your feedback. We would love the product to reach open source community lovers who can leverage the app for better uses :)
Roy Povarchik
@vineet18del @jitesh_dugar Why would you cover the rip-off app and not the original one? That actually works better?
Oren Razon
There is already an app that do exactly that. Not only that, but you also named your app in the exact same name as the existing one (AutoHash)! Assuming it's an innocent mistake, you should at least change your app name.
Jitesh Dugar
@orenrazon The app is not for profit and is an open source demo of the Imagga APIs. As a utility, the purpose of the app may be same but it is built to help others from the developer community so more powerful and innovative apps can be built. Hope you understand!
Jitesh Dugar
@orenrazon We've changed the app name. Apologies for the mistake.
Oren Razon
@jitesh_dugar thx for the reply and the changes you have done. Wish you much luck!
