Welcome to INKLINE STUDIO — a dedicated document editor for creative writers. Unlike generic apps like Google Docs or Microsoft Word, we offer dedicated interfaces to keep track of characters, organizations, and locations within your story, as well as methods to connect them like never before and bring them to life with AI asset generation, all presented in a beautiful UI built with performance in mind. Think of us like Campfire mixed with Scrivener — and free and open-source, forever.

Hi everyone! Jace here, co-creator of Inkline. I'm currently a CS student at the University of Toronto, but that wasn't always the case. Four years ago, I was an aspiring teenage author, writing books on one of the largest web fiction platforms in the world. At the time, like many others, I used Scrivener as my writing app. But the software, while functional, was beginning to become dated, and the UI felt unpolished for today's standards.
Fast forward to a few years later, with a few previous Electron apps under my belt, I decided to create a new tool in the creative writing space - one I could use myself to pick the pen back up and start writing once more. Originally, it was a barebones editor with no AI features - but after speaking to a few fellow authors, I realized a major painpoint in the industry - the lack of editors, and the lack of reference assets when world building.
Luckily, with the powerful models we have today, AI can solve both these problems. Using your local GPU, Inkline can generate portraits, theme songs, and playlists for your characters, organizations, or locations - based exactly on how you describe them on their profiles in the studio!
This is my first submission on Product Hunt and I'm still very much inexperienced - any and all feedback is welcome. If you find a bug, please feel free to open an issue on the GitHub repository, or contact me directly at jace.zk.dev@gmail.com. Cheers!
