I’ve worked in IT since 2006, and somewhere along the way I became the person who got handed the training sessions, conferences, and workshops. Nobody hired me as an event planner, but I was planning events anyway, and it became an unofficial second job.
The hardest part was never the event itself. It was the scattered pieces: a spreadsheet here, an email thread there, notes on my phone, and every time I came back to it I’d spend half my time figuring out where I left off. The tools that existed were built for professional planners, with more power (and price) than I needed.
So in 2023 I decided to build the tool I wished I had, for people like me: casual planners, who run events as part of their work or community but don’t do it for a living.
Impact Events keeps everything related to your event in one place, so you’re not wasting time figuring out where you left off, and you have time to actually enjoy the event you planned.
What feedback would help most
I’d love your honest take, including the critical parts:
Are you a casual planner? Tell me what events you run and how you handle them today.
Where did you get stuck? The first place you got confused or gave up is gold for me.
Does it keep everything in one place for you? What’s still living somewhere else (spreadsheets, email, notes)?
What’s missing? What would you need before using this for your next real event?
What would you still reach for instead? Another tool or workaround, and why.
Would you recommend it? If not, what would change your answer?
Short, blunt comments are welcome. I read every one and reply to all of them.
Thank you for taking a look.
