At every Supercharger stop, I found myself checking my car's stats on my phone while sitting in front of a beautiful 15-inch screen showing a blank browser page. That felt backwards.
There are great Tesla apps for your phone. I wanted one that lives where you actually drive. So I built it: designed on the road, coded during charging stops (each one a 25-minute sprint), shipped from a hotel room. Thirty days from idea to the App Store.
It's called iCar the Tesla dashboard that lives on the car's own screen (https://geticar.com). Trips drawn on a map, real charging costs, and a couple of controls the Tesla app doesn't offer. I'll save the details for tomorrow.
We go live here in about 8 hours, and there's a little something for the PH community in the listing.
Plex in your #Tesla with iCar for Tesla
Your entire Plex library, right on your Tesla screen.
Connect your Plex account once and iCar brings your personal collection into the car: your movies and shows for charging stops, and your full music library for the road. Thousands of your own tracks, no streaming subscription, no quotas, no ads.
The player follows you across every iCar screen: start an album, check the map, glance at your battery, the music never stops. Pick up a movie right where you left it, choose your video quality, audio language and subtitles.
And one thing we're proud of: your media streams directly from your Plex server to your car. It never passes through our servers. Your library stays yours.
