Hey Hunters ๐
This idea came to me after using ChatGPT to translate my i18n files. It worked well, but it was inconvenient having to specify each language I wanted to be output. Not to mention the token usage.
So, I built this using transformers.js alongside the Xenova/nllb-200-distilled-600M model to enable in-browser translations.
There is no server involved with the translation functionality. The only backend-related code running is authentication to enable a few premium features.
Would love to know your thoughts :)

@mcpizza0 Hey, thanks Omar! You know, with all of the modern AI tools floating around, it's made translation a lot more accessible.
Thanks for the support. I hope i18nlocale is able to help you with your future endeavors!

The interface design is simple and atmospheric, and the interaction design is smooth and does not drag. I really enjoy doing translation operations on this site and it became one of the options in my multilingual translation tool, thanks to the author's efforts.
I was thinking that it might be nice if the actual scenarios could support TypeScript files or JavaScript files, as it would be possible to write template strings. This does introduce some other problems though.
@horus_he Thanks Horus. I'm proud of the interface. I heavily leaned on TailwindUI and Shadcn but I like to think I sprinkled a bit of my personal ideas into it.
As for Typescript and Javascript support: those are both on the roadmap along with yaml.
It seems like the use of my site is actually picking up steam so I'll explore this a bit more over the weekend.

i18nlocale looks awesome for developers needing local translations! Translating content into multiple languages locally is a big plus. How do you ensure the accuracy and cultural relevance of the translations, especially for nuanced contexts? Are there any plans to support real-time translation updates?
@p_val Hey Val, I'm currently limited to the capabilities of the nllb-200-distilled-600M-model. Unfortunately, I can't ensure accuracy or cultural relevance past what the model, which was created by Meta, can ensure.
I have reason to believe the model provides a good-enough solution. But you can never beat hiring a local of the region you wish to translate for.
i18nlocale is the in-between for those that cannot afford to find and pay human translators.
