Hyaline uses AI to detect when code changes require documentation updates, ensures your documentation remains compliant, extracts documentation from any source, and delivers your documentation where it's needed.

👋 Hey Product Hunt!
We're Trevor and John, and we built Hyaline because we got tired of dealing with outdated software documentation.
If you've ever:
- Onboarded someone who wasted hours because the docs were wrong
- Updated code but missed updating documentation on 3 of the 5 places the feature was documented
- Had a customer reference a feature you deprecated months ago
- Wished you could just say "read the docs" without cringing
...then you know our pain.
🤔 Why now?
This problem has haunted every team we've worked on, from tiny startups to big companies. Some companies we worked at used tools like OpenAPI (Swagger), CLI libraries, doc blocks, etc. to generate documentation from code, but these tools failed to address the vast majority of documentation that's not embedded in the code and that can't be generated. The problem of figuring out what documentation needs to be updated across an organization felt unsolvable until LLMs came along.
🔍 How Hyaline works:
1. Push code, open a PR
2. Hyaline uses an LLM to analyze your changes against ALL your documentation (not just what's in the repo)
3. Hyaline posts a PR comment recommending specific documentation that need to be updated
4. Stop shipping outdated documentation
No more relying on someone's memory or a generic checklist. Hyaline can help identify if your API change affects the getting-started guide in Confluence, the troubleshooting doc on your support site, AND the README in a different repo.
✨ Bonus features:
- Audit tool: Set your own rules and find gaps in your documentation
- MCP server: Connect your docs directly to Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or wherever else MCP is supported, and give your AI assistants the context they need
📚 Who's it for?
