With HoneyDo, creating a grocery list is as simple as having a conversation. Whether it's your partner's request for tonight's dinner ingredients or your own mental checklist, HoneyDo transforms your spoken words into a neatly organized shopping list.

Hello ProductHunt community! πŸ‘‹ I'm thrilled to introduce HoneyDo. I took on the seemingly mad task of creating a new grocery app in this day and age. Yes, there are plenty out there, but I promise there's a method to my madness. It's born out of a personal need – my wife would rattle off a list of things to buy, and I'd struggle to remember them all. She's not a fan of typing into apps or shared notes, and honestly, neither am I when it's about speed. The epiphany was that all existing grocery apps have an input problem. They're not catering to the way real people communicate about errands. So, I built HoneyDo to solve my own problem, which I suspect might be yours too. Here's how it works: You or your partner can tell HoneyDo what to buy in a natural, conversational manner. "We need eggs, milk, and don't forget the chocolate cake that's near the entrance." Whisper and GPT4 processes this and voila, a neatly organized list appears on both your phones (synced via iCloud). "Well, Konstantin, but can't I just use Siri for that?" – you might ask. I appreciate the simplicity of using Siri for quick additions. However, HoneyDo shines in more complex scenarios. Imagine a lengthy (3-5 min) chat about various needs, where items are discussed, debated, and sometimes dismissed. It's not just about listing items but capturing the flow of a natural conversation, complete with contextual notes. This nuanced dialogue, with its ebbs and flows, isn't something Siri can handle, but it's precisely where HoneyDo excels. Another standout function is "Pic to Pick". It's pretty cool; you take a photo of a dish or your fridge's contents, and the app identifies the items and suggests them for your list. In my tests it works great. I'd love to get feedback. Whether it's about the UI/UX, the technical stack, or how the app performs in real-life scenarios, I'm all ears. I'm here to learn and improve, so please, be brutally honest.

What a great idea @cocoapriest ! To take scenarios with the GPT cat a step further, is HoneyDo able to find all the ingredients for a recipe? Ex: "I'd like to make a Pho tonight, what are the ingredients needed for the recipe knowing that we already have ...". To promote a a conversation on both sides ? Congratulation on the launch πŸ™Œ
Konstantin
Thank you so much for the fantastic scenario suggestion, @aymeric_sans2 ! πŸ™ Currently, HoneyDo doesn't support the extraction of recipe ingredients based on a dish name and cross-referencing them with what you already have at home. However, I love the idea of making HoneyDo more recipe-aware and it's definitely something I'll consider for future updates. In the meantime, you can take advantage of the "Pic to Pick" πŸ“Έ feature. If you have a picture of Pho or any other dish, HoneyDo can identify the ingredients in the image and add them to your shopping list. While it's not the full recipe functionality you're describing, it's a step in that direction and can be quite handy!

Unstructured voice input transforms into a structured to-do-list in a SMOOTH way. We tried out this a bunch of times, even while being on the road, listening to music etc .. and it seems to work all of the time for our family. Amazing job @cocoapriest πŸ™Œ
Konstantin
Hey @johannes_schubert , Thank you so much for the kind words and for giving HoneyDo a try! I'm thrilled to hear that it's been working smoothly for you and your family, even in less-than-ideal conditions. That's exactly the kind of robustness I aimed for. Thanks again for your support! πŸ™Œ

Congrats on the launch! The speech to groceries list idea is brilliant! Sounds like I can just speak to the app the meals I wanna cook and it will auto create the groceries list for me?
Konstantin
@leolu Thank you! As of now, HoneyDo doesn't automatically parse out ingredients from named dishes. But I'm genuinely intrigued by the concept of evolving the app to be more recipe-conscious. For the time being, I'd encourage you to explore the "Pic to Pick" feature. Snap a photo of a dish you're aiming to cook, and HoneyDo will do its best to recognize the visible ingredients and add them to your list.
