Hey Product Hunt! I'm Ishara, and I'm genuinely excited (and a little nervous) to share Finder with you today. The idea came from something pretty unglamorous: I grew up in a house where nothing ever had a place, and as an adult that turned into the same thing everyone deals with, standing in front of a closet trying to remember where I put something. When I went looking for an app to fix this, I found the same gap every time: most home inventory apps are built for businesses managing warehouse stock, or for filing an insurance claim after a disaster, and most of them look like they haven't been touched design-wise in over a decade. So I built Finder to be the simple version. Add an item with a photo, assign it to a location (home, garage, storage unit, wherever), and find it again in seconds whenever you need it. Mark things as available or taken, share access with family so everyone actually knows where things are. No warehouse features, no insurance paperwork, nothing you need a manual for. This is genuinely a solo project, and it's early. iOS is live now, Android is coming.
