Hi everyone! 👋 I'm Rupom Shah, CEO & Co-Founder of HiredKit, built with my co-founder Ebrahim Malek, CTO.
The Problem: I was applying for different roles (PM, consultant, analyst, sales) and realized something broken: every role needs a completely different resume. Generic resumes get filtered out by ATS systems before a human ever sees them. You apply, hear nothing, and get ghosted. I was spending 2+ hours per application using LLMs to tailor resumes, jumping between websites, context-switching between tools. Resume builders in one place, ChatGPT in another, interview prep somewhere else. Everything fragmented. If I'm dealing with this, so is everyone else.
What We Built: HiredKit solves the full workflow, not just one piece.
20-Second Resume Generation - Paste a job description, get a tailored PDF resume instantly. Pick from 20+ ATS-optimized templates, edit in real-time with AI, and use one-click compression to fit everything perfectly onto a single page.
Resume Analysis & Improvement - Upload any existing resume for an in-depth breakdown. See exactly what's holding you back, get actionable guidelines, and regenerate a perfected version in one click.
Real-Time Interview Practice - This is what made HiredKit feel complete. Have natural, voice-based conversations tailored to any job role. Our AI coach Rupert listens throughout and you can ask for help anytime, even have him demonstrate the perfect answer live.
We built this because job hunting is already stressful enough. You shouldn't need 10 tabs open just to apply.
Thanks for stopping by! Would love to hear your feedback.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ebrahim Malek, CTO & Co-Founder of HiredKit.
While Rupom was drowning in tabs trying to tailor resumes, I was watching the same problem from the technical side: why does applying for a job in 2025 still feel like duct-taping 5 different tools together?
The Build: My focus was making everything feel instant and seamless. Resume generation needed to be fast enough that you'd actually use it for every application, not just the jobs you really want. That meant 20 seconds vs. 20 minutes. We achieve this by splitting up the task and running things in parallel. When you hit generate, there's an army of AI models firing off simultaneously, each picked for the specific task it's best at through extensive testing.
The generator also couldn't just be a text dump. We built a rendering engine that displays an accurate PDF preview on screen, updating in real-time as you edit, so what you see is exactly what you'll download. And for one-page compression, we use smart pruning that weighs relevance to your specific role. Most resume tools compress by deleting. We compress by understanding what matters, so your one-page resume is actually stronger than your full one.
The real challenge was Rupert, our AI interview coach. He listens throughout your entire practice interview and you can call on him anytime for help, even have him demonstrate the perfect answer by speaking to the interviewer on your behalf. Getting that seamless switching between interviewer and coach to feel natural took serious iteration.
We're just getting started and would love to hear what you think. Happy to answer any questions about how we built it! 🛠️
HiredKit has been genuinely worth it for me. After using it for several months (even before the rebrand), it helped me generate multiple tailored CVs, run realistic practice interviews, and ultimately land a job.
The CV builder makes it quick and easy to adapt your resume to different roles, so you are not just sending the same generic version everywhere. The interview practice feels surprisingly real, and after a few sessions you go into actual interviews feeling much more prepared and confident.
Overall, it’s a tool that pays off if you commit to using it regularly during a job search. In my case, it directly contributed to getting hired, so I’m comfortable recommending it as a solid investment.
@aden_victor This means everything to us. 🙏
Honestly, comments like yours are exactly why we built HiredKit in the first place. It's not just about generating resumes fast or having interview practice available, it's about the outcome. Getting you hired.
The fact that you've been with us through the rebrand and stuck with it tells us something crucial: when people actually use the tool consistently (like you mentioned), it works. The tailored resumes get past ATS systems. The practice interviews actually prepare you. You go into real interviews confident instead of terrified.
That's the flywheel we were betting on, and hearing that it directly contributed to you landing a job validates everything.
One thing I'm curious about: you mentioned "after a few sessions you go into actual interviews feeling much more prepared." Were there specific moments in the practice interviews where something clicked for you? Or was it more cumulative, the confidence building over time?
We're always iterating on the interview coach (Rupert), so feedback like that helps us understand what's actually working for people beyond just the feature set.
Thanks for being an early believer and for taking the time to share this. Users like you are why we're so excited about today's launch.
Stumbled upon this tool for job hunting. Saved me a ton of time perfecting and editing resumes for different jobs. Took me 2 months to create my perfect resume for applying in Canva while, hiredkit did it in 20 seconds.
@saad_nasir1 2 months vs. 20 seconds is exactly the gap we were trying to close.
The thing is, when resume tailoring takes that long, you only do it for the jobs you really want. Every other application gets the generic version, which ATS systems filter out. We wanted to make tailoring so fast that there's no reason not to do it for every single application.
Thanks for sharing this - glad it's making a difference. 🙏
Have you considered creating a portfolio in addition to your resume?
I’ve often struggled to find good portfolio examples, so I’m curious how you approached it.
@hee323 Great question! We agree, a portfolio feels like a natural next step alongside resumes. It's useful to know there's interest in this sort of thing and it's definitely on our radar.
