Today, I’m here to share it with you and the PH community.
I started Heartstring because I was frustrated by the limitations of existing messaging apps when it came to connecting and exchanging thoughts with others quickly. I found myself often going through Reddit, FB communities, or Whatsapp groups just to find, and then finally connect, with people who were in my city or had a similar interest. I also often did not know what was happening in my city - and news outlets didn’t do it for me either.
As for most of the existing social apps, I realised no matter what, I’m almost always forced to build a sizeable audience first to get proper engagement. In short, most of the existing alternatives on both the social and messaging side were not what I needed.
For example, what if you want to quickly connect with people in your city? What if you need some local insights on a place on the go? What if you quickly need some advice? What if you want to know what’s happening in your city? Or find people interested in the same things you are? Where do you go? 🤔
In order to solve this, I started building Heartstring after talking to people, with the goal of creating a place where you can quickly find, connect and chat with like-minded people nearby or worldwide. Here are some of the main things Heartstring can help you with:
🌍 Seeing what people want to talk about anywhere in the world.
👏 Connecting with people in your city, event, campus, area etc.
🔭 Finding like-minded people with similar interests more easily.
👌🏾 Creating local or global posts and updates that you control.
💬 Exchanging thoughts & ideas with others in short form chats.

Your idea is brilliant. The best part is localized short communication. However, getting active and engaging users is always difficult and generally turns new social network apps to failure. What's your plan? Congratulations on the launch!
@naveed_rehman I have never heard brilliant before 😅 you are absolutely right, getting the ball rolling is brutally difficult the first year. The main plan is to initially have it being used by students & expats in dense urban areas. I am also going to be partnering with music and business events. Any suggestions are very welcome though!

Interesting App. Especially with the Covid years that passed and the RU UA war. I think an app where you can chat with people nearby is meaningful and would be extremely helpful in the situation I described. Good for the elderly too.
