Halvsy turns a photo of the bill into a group balance. It reads every line, tax and tip, and checks them against the printed total. You tap who had what, tax and tip are split in proportion to each person's order, and every share lands in the group. Friends join with a QR code, each group keeps its own currency, and settling up goes through whatever payment app you already use. No ads and no daily limit on expenses.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
We built Halvsy because splitting a dinner kept ending the same way. One person held the receipt, did the math on a phone calculator, and later typed each line into an expense app that stopped them after a few entries a day. The receipt already has every number on it, so Halvsy starts there.
You photograph the bill, and Halvsy reads the items, tax and tip and shows them beside the printed total so you can check that they add up. You tap a name onto each line, or share a line across the table. Tax and tip are split in proportion to what each person ordered, and the group's balance updates for everyone in it. When it is time to pay each other back, Halvsy cuts the group's debts down to as few payments as it can and hands each amount to whatever payment app you already use.
Friends join a group by scanning its QR code, and someone who hasn't installed the app yet can hold a seat under their name until they do. Each group keeps its own currency, so a ramen night in Osaka in yen and a weekend in Porto in euros sit side by side on the home screen.
Groups, expenses, balances and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Every account includes 10 receipt scans a month, and Halvsy Unlimited lifts that cap for the person scanning a whole trip's worth of receipts in one week.
Halvsy is live on Android, and the iPhone version follows. We'd like to hear about the receipt that trips it up, whether that is a 40-line grocery run, a faded thermal print or a bill in another language.
The UI looks great, any plans to support iOS?
