how does the PDF resume actually handle formatting when you swap templates later, does it reflow cleanly or do you end up redoing sections by hand?
@memetgkgnu04m Great question! The resume reflows cleanly—there's no need to redo sections by hand.
GradView keeps your content and design separate. Your resume data (sections, order, custom titles, visibility, and custom content) stays the same, while the selected template controls the visual presentation.
So when you switch from one template to another, the layout, typography, colors, and spacing automatically adapt, but your content remains intact. Even custom elements like highlight boxes, dividers, and renamed section titles are preserved and rendered in the new template's style.
The PDF is generated directly from the live preview using print-optimized A4 styles, so what you see on screen is exactly what you get in the downloaded PDF.
How does the PDF resume export handle custom layouts from the editorial templates, or does it stick to a fixed format?
@zeynephegc Great question! The portfolio templates and PDF resume templates are intentionally separate.
Your portfolio website can use any of our editorial templates, while the PDF resume is generated using dedicated resume layouts that are optimized for A4 printing and ATS compatibility. This ensures the PDF remains clean, professional, and consistent regardless of which portfolio template you're using.
So changing your portfolio's visual style won't affect your resume formatting. You can independently choose the resume template that best fits your needs, and the exported PDF will match the live resume preview.
The live preview while editing is such a smart call, makes tweaking feel way less intimidating for students who aren't used to building anything online. Templates look clean too.
@nurayzgbz Thank you! That was exactly our goal. We wanted to make portfolio building feel approachable, especially for students creating one for the first time. The live preview lets you see every change instantly, so you can experiment with confidence without worrying about breaking anything. We're glad you liked the templates too—we'll be adding more designs and customization options over time!
The live preview while building is a really thoughtful touch, makes tweaking templates feel less like guesswork and more like actually designing something. Nice execution on that.
@abdulsamet2lqg Thank you so much! We wanted the editing experience to feel intuitive rather than overwhelming. Instead of guessing how changes will look, users get instant visual feedback as they customize their portfolio. We're really glad that came across, and we're excited to keep improving the editor with even more templates and customization options.
